Angelica Panganiban drew flak after tweeting her complaint against Red Cross Subic over alleged preferential treatment at the swabbing facility.
The actress on Tuesday said that she and a companion waited for an hour in the parking lot for their turn to undergo swab testing, only for others who supposedly arrived later than them in the area to get tested first.
“Hello red cross subic!! Isang oras na kami sa dito sa parking area niyo. Nakaalis na din mga nakasabay namin. At inuna niyo pa yung ibang bagong dating. Okay lang naman kung palakasan 🙂 tweet ko na lang,” said Angelica.
“Taray ng red cross dito sa subic. Di sila namamansin :),” Angelica added in another tweet.
Angelica also claimed that a previous experience with the same Red Cross branch almost made her lose her mind. She recalled getting an e-mail from them that said she tested positive for COVID-19 even as the result attached to it showed she was negative for the virus.
“Nung huling beses ako nag pa swab sa red cross, muntik akong mabaliw. Nag padala sila ng email na positive ako sa covid. Pero yung attachment result, negative ako. Ginawa nila yun sa buong olongapo guys nag sorry naman sila after 12 hours,” Angelica said.
Angelica’s tweets didn’t sit well with some netizens and medical frontliners who called out the actress for being “entitled” and “privileged”.
Replying to Angelica’s tweet, a swabber from Subic Red Cross pointed out that Angelica should be thankful enough that the actress’ companion got swabbed without queuing and having no set appointment.
“Be grateful na lang sana na na-iswab yung kasama mo ma’am without queueing at maramdaman yung init sa tent while waiting for their turn. May appointment lahat ng nagpaswab today, and hopefully kayo rin para valid ‘tong rant mo ma’am.”
The frontliner also stressed that being a celebrity is not included in the COVID-19 vaccine priority list.
“People who were swabbed before you sa parking, we’re actually illed and yung isa nga ambulansya pa eh. Di mo ba kita ma’am? Ang pagiging artista ma’am di kasama sa priority list, yet, lumabas ako to swab yung kasama nyo”.
He also shared a photo of him with Angelica and advised her to make an appointment next time she wants to get tested.
Other netizens, meanwhile, urged Angelica to apologize for her rants.
The actress has not issued any new reaction as of writing.
