Luis Manzano might consider running for public office next year.
“Wala pa, pero malay natin. Nakikita ko — baka naman na sa horizon ‘yan ang pagiging isang politiko,” said Luis when asked by a netizen about his political plans during a Facebook live on Wednesday.
The TV host added that he’s not closing his doors to politics because he believes that everyone has an “obligation or responsibility to serve”.
“We have different capacities. Pwedeng from a simple act of service, or pwedeng through public service talaga. So para sa akin, hindi ko sinasara ang pinto ko sa politika,” said Luis.
Luis then threw a question back to his viewers, asking if they will vote for him should he enter politics.
“Ito ang pinaka magandang tanong — kung sakali ba na tumakbo ako, iboboto niyo ba ako? May tiwala ba kayo sa akin pag dating sa boto ninyo? Iyon ang pinaka magandang katanungan,” said Luis.
“Tingnan natin kung tatakbo ako, tingnan natin kung ano’ng posisyon,” said Luis before proceeding to thank those who showed their early support for his possible political career.
“Maraming salamat sa mga nagsasabing na kahit papaano ay may tiwala sa akin kung maging politiko man ako. Ano gusto niyo ba?
“Ang filing ng candidacy ay October, kung hindi ako nagkakamali. Puwedeng-puwede pang humabol, kung sakali man,” added Luis.
Politics is not new to Luis as his mom and dad both ran for public office. Vilma Santos is currently a Batangas Representative while Edu Manzano served as a vice mayor in Makati from 1998 to 2001.
