Singer Geneva Cruz is grieving the death of her mother Marilyn Cruz who lost her battle with COVID-19 on Monday.
“With hearts broken and full of sorrow, our family would like to let you know that our Mom and Grandmother, Marilyn Cruz (@lynne_bunso), is now in heaven. ??? We will forever remember each of you who prayed and helped in whatever way that you can. She is gone too soon, and no one can ever replace her in our hearts. See you on the other side, mama… ?,” Geneva announced the sad news on her social media accounts.
Early Monday, Geneva wrote how she didn’t expect her mom’s pneumonia due to COVID-19 would turn for the worse that she needed to be intubated.
“How can she not be okay today when she was okay yesterday?! I don’t understand this! She was supposed to get better. We are asking for prayers, please!” she appealed to her followers.
By afternoon, however, she announced the passing of her mom.
Last April 10, Geneva asked for prayers after her mom had been “hit a bit hard” by the virus due to her hypertension and diabetes.
She also held an online show to raise funds for proper medical attention for her mother “who raised me, supported me and has been the best grandma to my children.”
