Ex-PBB housemates Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette remain friends after breakup

-

Former Pinoy Big Brother housemates Lou Yanong and Andre Brouillette have broken up but vowed to remain in each other’s lives “forever as friends”.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday night, Andre posted a statement announcing their split.

The two had been in a long distance relationship as Andre returned to his hometown in Hawaii in August last year.

“I’m saddened to say this but recently, Lou and I have come to a mutual understanding to move on from being a couple,” began Andre.

Andre, who had been with Lou for more than a year, went on to say that they tried working things out, but their relationship still came to an end.

“We realize we’re going on different journeys in our lives and no matter how hard we tried to make it work, it isn’t meant to be.

“The truth is we do care for each other and always will. She is such a big part of my life, and I am ultimately so thankful to God to have her in my life. She is my best friend, and I will always support her.”

He then addressed and thanked fans for their support.

“Thank you to everyone for being so supportive to us along the way. We really did try out best, and it saddens us for it to come to this realization.

He added, “Your love and support helped us keep going countless times. We owe it to you guys to be honest about this. We love you all dearly, and don’t want you to be sad.”

It is not clear when they broke up but in Andre’s YouTube vlog just last December 5, 2020, he admitted that what he missed the most was Lou’s hugs.

“The most challenging thing in LDR is, of course, the distance,” he said in the same video, adding that what helped their relationship were “the Bible studies, and we also take inspiration from God’s love to forgive each other and to pray for each other.”

Despite going separate ways, Lou and Andre or LouDre, as they are fondly called by fans, stayed as friends and kept some of their Instagram photos together unlike other couples who broke up.

“We (will) still be in each other’s lives forever as friends,” said Andre.

When a commenter said that he hopes the breakup was really mutual, Lou responded, “It is.”

She also shared Andre’s statement via an Instagram story with a praying hand and heart emojis. She also briefly addressed their split on Twitter.

“We still care deeply about each other and that’s what matters,” she said.

Lou and Andre met inside the PBB house during the Otso edition in 2019, where he also asked her to be his girlfriend while they were still housemates of the reality show.

During their PBB stint, the two stirred controversy after their drunk kissing episode even if they weren’t still officially together at that time.

Andre then said in a Tonight with Boy Abunda interview, “We’re sorry that it happened and we want to apologize to everybody. But the best thing from this is that to show what alcohol does. I’ve learned a lot.”
