Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis’ Shop and Share charitable initiative have officially begun its free COVID-19 rapid testing efforts.
On Instagram, Shop and Share announced that they were able to provide 600 COVID-19 rapid test kits through the program of the Redemptorists Missionaries in Albay.
“Because of your overwhelming support, we were able to provide 600 COVID-19 test kits for some of our stranded kababayans that reached out to us,” they said in a tweet.
“This is just the beginning and we promise to do our best to share the donations you have made to our kababayans that need it the most. Maraming, maraming salamat po for supporting this cause,” they added.
The Redemptorists Missionaries in Albay tested those who are stranded in their care.
Shop and Share is a charity initiative where big-name personalities auction off their prized belongings for a cause.
It was first set up in 2009 after Typhoon Ondoy devastated the country.
In an Instagram post, Angel said the funds raised will be used to purchase coronavirus test kits to allow testing opportunities for poorer sectors.
On June 1, the opening day of the charity initiative, they were able to raise over P700,000.
