Talent manager Ogie Diaz said that ABS-CBN Star Magic boss Lauren Dyogi is ready to apologize to its artist Janella Salvador over her non-inclusion in the front cover of the talent management arm’s 30th anniversary catalogue.
Janella’s cryptic tweet, which was revealed to be indeed about Star Magic, was one of Ogie’s hot topics in a recent vlog in his entertainment news show “Showbiz Update”.
On July 8, the actress posted, “Ah. K noted,” followed by a star and magic wand emojis, days after the Star Magic 30 Catalogue was launched.
There was no context or explanations that followed the post which led people to speculate that it was a swipe at her talent agency.
“Sari-saring komento ang mga lumalabas kasi nga kung matatandaan natin noong July 6 ay inilunsad ng Star Magic ang kanilang latest catalogue tampok ‘yung mga talents nila wala sa front page si Janella,” Ogie started.
“Nandoon sina Daniel, Kathryn, si Joshua, Gerald Anderson, si Kim Chiu, si Zanjoe Marudo, si Arjo Atayde, si Angelica Panganiban, Enchong Dee, Shaina Magdayao, John Arcilla at si Jane de Leon,” the talent manager named the faces featured on the catalogue’s front page.
The talent manager mentioned Janella’s decade of loyalty to Star Magic and the Kapamilya network that should amount to her being equally treated with her fellow stars.
“Kaya hindi maiwasang may mga pumanig kay Janella at maglabas ng kani-kanilang mga sentimyento. Sinasabi pa na [si] Janella raw is one of the most loyal SM artists,” Ogie said.
“The fact na hindi iniwan ni Janella ang Star Magic. Malaking bagay ‘yun at malaking puntos ‘yun para makalimutan si Janella,” he added.
According to Ogie, Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN’s head of TV production, said that he is open to apologizing to the actress on behalf of the talent agency.
“To be fair kinuha namin ang panig ni direk Lauren Dyogi. So, siguro at this point nakausap na ni direk Lauren si Janella kasi sinabi sa akin ni direk nu’ng July 8 ng 5:49 p.m., e, hindi pa raw niya nakakausap si Janella,” Ogie shared.
“At hihingi na lang daw siya ng dispensa kay Janella kasi nga sabi ni direk Lauren kasi last minute may nabago sa lay-out (catalogue) at kailangang magdagdag ng pahina. Medyo marami rin naman daw sila na hindi naisama,” he explained on behalf of the ABS-CBN executive.
“Anyway, sana tanggapin ni Janella ang paghingi ng dispensa ng Star Magic. Maliit na bagay iyon, pero sa mga stars kasi medyo partikular sila sa ganyan kasi pag wala ka ro’n Loi, iba tingin sa sa ’yo ng mga tao,” Ogie explained.
