A video of Gerald Anderson went viral after a fan from the crowd shouted the name of the actor’s former girlfriend Kim Chiu when he was shooting free throws during the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2023.
The actor, who plays for Marikina Shoemasters, successfully shot his first free throw as seen in a clip reposted by News5 on Facebook.
When he was about to shoot his free throw for the second time,” a fan cheered the actor, screaming “Idol, isa pa para kay Kim Chiu.” The actor then missed the shot afterwards.
The commentator can be heard saying: “1 out of 2.”
“7 points for Gerald,” said another commentator while letting out a laugh.
“May sinisigaw dito sa likod eh. Nagkamali yata ng pangalan na binanggit,” added after the first asked him “Bakit ka natawa?”
Gerald and Kim, dubbed by fans as “Kimerald”, were longtime screen partners and eventually dated in real life. The two called it quits in 2010.
Currently, Gerald is in a relationship with actress Julia Barretto while Kim has been in a long-term relationship with boyfriend Xian Lim.
