Vhong Navarro will soon return to It’s Showtime after posting bail for his temporary liberty in connection with the rape charges filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.
According to an ABS-CBN report, the actor-comedian was released from the Taguig City Jail on Tuesday afternoon after the court granted him to post the recommended P1 million bail.
“It must be emphasized, however, that a grant of bail does not prevent the Court, as trier of facts, from making a final assessment of the evidence after full trial on the merits,” read the court’s order.
Vhong was first detained at the National Bureau of Investigation in September before he was transferred to the Taguig City Jail in November.
The 45-year-old was fetched by his wife Tanya Bautista who expressed joy and gratititude over her husband’s temporary release.
“Sobrang happy. It’s going to be a blessed Christmas, a very good Christmas for the family,” Tanya was quoted as saying in an interview with ABS-CBN.
She“We deal with things one day at a time. Sumusunod lang tayo sa process. This time, ito na ‘yon, we were granted bail, and we are so thankful,” Bautista added.
Vhong reportedly got emotional on the court’s decision to grant his bail.
Vhong is expected to return to his hosting duties in It’s Showtime after resting and spending time with his family.
