SEVENTEEN member Hoshi has revealed that he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while rehearsing for a military performance.
Hoshi shared the news with fans through a fan communication platform, explaining that he injured his knee while practicing with the Ground Forces performance team.
“While practicing with the Ground Forces performance team, I injured my knee and underwent an examination, and I was diagnosed with a complete tear of my anterior cruciate ligament,” Hoshi announced on Weverse.
The K-pop star said he will undergo surgery and focus on his recovery, preventing him from participating in previously scheduled events with the military’s Taekwondo Demonstration Team and the Ground Forces Festival.
“As a result, after surgery, I will need to focus on my recovery for the time being, so I will be unable to participate in the scheduled Taekwondo Demonstration Team events and the Ground Forces Festival,” he said.
Hoshi expressed disappointment over missing the performances, saying he had worked hard in preparation for the events.
“I worked hard to prepare for these performances because I was truly waiting for and looking forward to them, so I feel very disappointed that I won’t be able to be a part of them, and I’m also very sorry to the CARATs who had been waiting for them,” he added.
Despite the injury, Hoshi assured fans that he will prioritize his treatment and recovery.
“I will receive proper treatment and focus on my recovery so that I can quickly return in good health. Don’t worry too much!”, Hoshi’s message concluded.
Hoshi enlisted in the South Korean military in September 2025 and was assigned to the Republic of Korea Army Taekwondo Demonstration Team. He is scheduled to be discharged on March 15, 2027.
