Actress Inah de Belen and content creator Rosmar Tan recently became involved in an online exchange after a netizen compared their appearances, sparking a widely circulated social media feud.
The issue began after Inah posted photos on Facebook with her boyfriend, actor Jake Vargas, during their attendance at a Flores de Mayo celebration in Barangay Maysantol, Bulacan, early May.
A netizen commented on the post, noting a supposed resemblance between Inah and Rosmar, which the actress responded to in the comments section.
“Sorry po ha, nagtataka ako bakit nandiyan si Jake Vargas, akala ko talaga si Rosmar kung di ko nabasa pangalan, nagtingin-tingin pa ako, ang mag-jowa pala talaga, ang ganda mo pati ng damit mo,” they wrote.
Inah initially questioned who Rosmar was and later remarked after looking her up that she did not want to be associated with the content creator, using a term that quickly drew attention online.
“Guys, sino ba si Rosmar? Hindi ko siya kilala. Naresearch ko na siya, plssss don’t associate me with her, ew,” she respondeded in the replies.
The comment was later deleted.
Content creator Rosemarie Tan-Pamulaklakin, known as “Rosmar,” responded to her thoughts in her feed, expressing disappointment over the remarks and defending her career and public presence.
“Kung maka ‘ew’ ka naman sa akin at di niya daw ako kilala. Nahiya naman ako sayo, Filipina actress nakalagay pero di din naman kita kilala. Mas maraming beses pa ata ako lumabas sa TV kaysa sayo, ante. Kung maka ‘ew’ wagas, inaano ka?” she wrote.
In a separate post, Rosmar doubled down on her response, saying, “Kung maka-‘ew’ ka naman sa akin. Mas mukha ka pa ngang mom of 3 sa akin. At kung makasabi ka na ’di mo ako kilala?” she reiterated.
“Mas di kita kilala, saan ka lumabas? Hiyang-hiya naman sayo ang 30M total followers ko. Kala ko di mo ako kilala? Pero sasabihan mo ako ng ‘ew’ at nakaka-bwisit? Okay lang sana na di mo ako kilala pero anong ginawa ko sa’yo? Para sabihan mo ako ng ‘EW’? Starlet na di pa nga sikat, attitude na agad. Pwe!” Rosmar wrote.
Meanwhile, several netizens came to Inah’s defense, claiming that the “ew” used by the actress may not have been meant as an expression of disgust, but rather shorthand for “either way.”
“Either way naman kasi daw ang meaning nun,” one netizen commented.
Another user wrote, “Why much affected sa 2 letters ha teh, EW affected sa 2 letters,” while a separate commenter added, “EW short for either way kasi.”
Inah is the daughter of veteran actors Janice de Belen and John Estrada, and has appeared in several television and film projects, including Crazy Beautiful You, Kambal Karibal, and Die Beautiful.
Meanwhile, Rosmar is known as a Filipino vlogger, entrepreneur, and chief executive officer of the skincare brand Rosmar International.
As of writing, Inah has yet to release any further statement regarding the issue and Rosmar’s social media posts.
