ABS-CBN’s flagship primetime series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ is ushering in a new season with the entry of additional characters, promising more twists and heightened drama in its political drama storyline.
Fresh from their acclaimed project Incognito, Baron Geisler and Maris Racal are also set to appear in the primetime show. Maris takes on the role of Ponggay, a rookie policewoman who, as she described during a TV Patrol set visit, is “innocent but eager for change.”
Director, producer and lead star Coco Martin likewise teased an upcoming highlight: a three-way confrontation between the Montenegro and Guerrero families and the police faction headed by Rigor.
Among the newest faces in the cast is Aljur Abrenica, who plays PLt. Hector Victorino. Early teasers show his character clashing with John Estrada’s Rigor, though further details about his role are being kept under wraps.
In addition, a story conference video uploaded by CCM Productions on their social media platforms revealed more veteran names joining the ensemble, including Perla Bautista, Roi Vinzon, Richard Quan, Aleck Bovick and Via Antonio.
Jeri Montano is also making his return to acting after being away from the industry for several years. Joining also in the new cast are Criza Taa who played Gwynn Maguad on MMK, along with newcomers Tita Jegs and Ate Mrena, who are both under the management of Ogie Diaz.
The current arc follows Tanggol (Coco Martin) as he takes on a new chapter in his journey — stepping into politics as the “Tagapag-Tanggol ng Pagbabago” for Manila. Now on its third year, the series tackles power struggles, corruption and the city’s election battles, with Tanggol pitted against the influential Guerrero family.
Since its premiere in February 2023, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo has remained the top-rated ABS-CBN drama, consistently drawing strong viewership across platforms.
