“They really need to invest on a stylist before they invest on these (expletive) fashion stuff.”
That’s how Filipino-American influencer Bretman Rock slammed those “nepo babies” in the Philippines who are under public scrutiny because of family ties to people behind allegedly anomalous government infrastructure projects.
In a recent Instagram story, what began as a casual Q&A about languages turned into a takedown when Bretman called out the “questionable ugly fashion choices” of those “nepo babies.”
“There is bigger fishes to fry, especially in the Philippines right now,” he started.
“Like these nepo babies using up people’s money to buy and fund their lavish lifestyle and some of their questionable ugly fashion choices,” he added.
Bretman said he recently saw a video that made him shake his head.
“I saw this video the other day where I’m like, girl, where she was like. They really need to invest on a stylist before they invest on these fashion stuff,” he stated.

Recently, discussions about these “nepo babies” have intensified amid reports of the country losing billions of pesos to anomalous flood control projects.
Members of the online community have since directed their disgust and frustration at the family members of contractors and politicians allegedly involved — especially those who have become influencers known for posting about their luxurious lifestyles, fashion choices and purchases.
For Bretman, the outrage of the people is reasonable knowing that the people’s taxes were being spent this way.
“I would be mad too if I was funding these nepo babies’ life and they’re buying ugly things. I would be mad. Trust.”
