Showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin was not amused about Vice Ganda mentioning her name to poke fun about his long-standing friendship with fellow comedians MC and Lassy during his concert.
The incident stemmed from the popular comedian’s “Superdivas” concert with “Asia’s Songbird” Regine Velasquez, where Vice called MC and Lassy from the audience and playfully expressed his surprise at their presence.
“So you made it,” Vice teased the pair.
“Bakit kayo nandito? Magagalit si Cristy Fermin! Akala nila magkaka-away tayo, sisirain ninyo ‘yung narrative. Mawawalan sila ng content,” Vice quipped, seemingly referencing their past controversies with Fermin.
Vice Ganda reused the punchline in another segment where MC and Lassy impersonated President Bongbong Marcos Jr. and former president Rodrigo Duterte.
This time, Vice brought into the skit actress Bea Alonzo, who had previously been in a legal dispute with Fermin.
“Huwag kayong mag-alala, may magtatanggol sa atin,” he said before calling out to Bea, who was in the audience, “Bea, you handle it! Sagot tayo ni Ate Bea, siya nang bahala, magdadasal lang tayo.”
The camera then panned to Bea, who was seen laughing.
It can be recalled that Fermin had been issued a warrant of arrest over Alonzo’s cyberlibel complaint, which stemmed from alleged defamatory remarks made against her on the columnist’s online programs.
In the latest episode of her YouTube talk show Cristy Fer Minute, Fermin addressed Vice’s remark about “destroying her narrative” regarding the trio’s supposed rift.
Directing her frustration at MC over his alleged past statements about his friendship with Vice, she said: “Baka daw magpalit ng naratibo. Wala daw tayong magiging content. Lassy, MC — lalo ka na, MC — magpakatotoo ka. Anong alam namin sa pagkakaibigan niyo? Kanino ba galing ’yung mga kwento?
She continued, “Mag-reality mag-reality check ka, Vice. [Nasa] palibot mo lang ang mga ahas na tumutuklaw sa’yo. Pwede ba? Magtigil nga kayo. Magpakatotoo nga kayo.”
“Anong content? Inimbento namin ’yung kwento? Hindi kami nag-iimbento ng kwento. May binasa kami. Alam mo ’yan, MC. Naku ha, huwag na kayong mag-utuan. Huwag niyo kaming gamitin. Nakakaloka,” exclaimed Fermin.
On the other hand, the veteran columnist had words of praise for Bea’s reaction to being included in Vice’s punchline.
“Sabi niya may magtatanggol sa atin — si Bea Alonzo. Alam mo, pupurihin ko si Bea ha. Kasi ang ginawa niya, kinaswal niya lang ’yon, parang umiiwas siya. Ganoon ang taong nag-iisip, hindi nagpapagamit,” Cristy remarked, referring to Bea’s brief but composed response to the joke.
