Rufa Mae Quinto addressed public speculation surrounding the death of her husband, Trevor Magallanes, as well as misinformation about their marital status.

The actress first announced Trevor’s passing last week through a post on social media, without disclosing the cause of his death.

In her latest post on Facebook accompanied by their family photos, she appealed to the public for privacy and cautioned against those who use her partner’s passing to spread false information.

“Maraming Salamat sa lahat ng nagpadala ng mensahe ng pakikiramay. As we cautiously navigate through this emotionally difficult period in our lives, we would appreciate discretion from everyone,” she wrote.

“Nakikiusap ako na huwag naman po ninyong gamitin ang pangyayaring ito para magkaroon lamang kayo ng ‘content’. As the wife of Trev, all information surrounding his passing will come from me. Ang lahat ng detalye ay maaari ko lang maibigay sa tamang oras,” declared Rufa Mae.

“For the sake of our daughter, Athena, please refrain from spreading unverified information that she can access through social media.
Let us just remember the good times that we had with my husband, Trev,” she added.

In a separate post, the comedienne also clarified rumors suggesting that she and Trevor were no longer married at the time of his death.

It was in December 2024 when the couple made headlines after Trevor revealed that he and Rufa Mae were undergoing divorce proceedings.

“Mag-asawa pa din kami ni Trevor. Walang nag-file sa amin ng annulment. Dito po kami sa Pilipinas kinasal noong November 25, 2016,” she explained. “Ako po ay widow/byuda na. Shock pa din at nagluluksa po kaming mag-ina.”

Rufa Mae ended her post with a request for strength for her and her daughter and a grateful message to those who offered them condolences.

“Salamat po sa lahat ng condolences and RIP and sympathy. Salamat sa pakikiramay. Lord please give me and Athena our daughter strength, ang sakit.”

Rufa Mae and Trevor lived in the United States for several years after getting married in 2016. They welcomed their daughter, Athena, a year later.
