Mark Herras spoke up about the viral video of him performing at an entertainment bar, saying he has no regrets as it was simply part of his job.
The actor addressed criticisms of performance at a gay bar in Parañaque during an interview with Toni Gonzaga on Toni Talks.
“Hindi siya planado. Kumbaga, sumayaw ako kasi trabaho. Basta ang goal ko kasi, to provide,” stated Mark.
The 38-year-old explained that he holds no regrets over accepting the job despite being out of the limelight.
“Mas pinili ko na yung tahimik na part ng career ko, hindi dahil tanggap ko na wala na ako sa limelight. Eh di okay, wala na ako, it’s fine. Pero masaya ako, may trabaho pa akong ginagawa.”
Mark explained that he accepted the opportunity after being invited by colleagues who also did side gigs, and agreed to perform at the Apollo Male Entertainment & KTV Bar.
In the viral video, Mark performed wearing a black sweater in one scene and a white tank top in another, as he gave a female audience member seated on stage a seductive performance.
The Kapuso actor clarified that he did not perform as a macho dancer, and did not participate in any other activities.
“Dumating ako doon as performer talaga, as guest nila…Hindi naman ako naghubad, eh. Hindi naman ako sumayaw na parang macho dancer or what. I performed, I danced like hip-hop.
“Hindi naman ako nagpa-table or what,” he stressed.
While some defended him, Mark said he was surprised at others’ harsh reaction and quick judgement.
“Pero satin kasi ‘di ba grabe ‘yung mga Pilipino mang-judge ng tao, akala nila mayroon silang karapatan mang-judge sa mga buhay ng ibang tao.
Despite the controversy, Mark remains unfazed, stating that public opinion no longer affects him.
“Parang hindi naman ako humihingi ng awa, pero nasa stage ako ng buhay ko na wala akong pakialam sa mga sinasabi nila.”
