South Korean actress Kim So Eun bid goodbye to her late “We Got Married” co-star Song Jae Rim with a short but emotional tribute.
Days after Jae Rim’s passing, So Eun penned a heartfelt farewell message on her Instagram Story, expressing her heartbreak over the loss.
“My heart aches so deeply that no words in the world can truly express it. I hope your long journey is not a lonely one,” So Eun wrote in Korean as roughly translated to English.
“Goodbye, my friend… until we meet again. I sent him off well. Please don’t worry about me,” the actress added alongside a throwback black and white photo of them together.
“We Got Married” is a now-defunct variety show where two celebrities are paired up and pretend they’re married while completing various challenges together as a couple. So Eun and Jae Rim appeared in the program’s 2015 episode, captivating fans with their chemistry.
After their successful pairing in the hit variety show, So Eun and Jae Rim won the Best Couple Awards at the 2014 MBC Entertainment Awards and co-starred in the 2016 family drama “Our Gap-soon.”
The two also courted dating rumors in 2023 but denied that they are just “close friends.”
Jae Rim’s sudden passing shocked the former reel pair’s fans, with most of them leaving messages of support under So Eun’s Instagram comments which she has now deactivated.
Some also reminisced about Jae Rim and So Eun’s most recent reunion a couple of months ago when the latter came to cheer on the late actor in his musical play.
South Korean media outlets reported that Jae Rim was found dead in his apartment on November 12. A two-page note was also reportedly discovered at the scene.
The late K-drama actor was best known for his role in the 2012 K-drama series, “The Moon Embracing The Sun,” and most recently starred in “Queen Woo.”
