Angelica Yulo expressed her full support to Eldrew and Elaiza, younger siblings of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, as they begin their gymnastics training in Japan.
Management group KG Management Inc. on Tuesday posted photos of Eldrew and Elaiza with Coach Munehiro Kugimiya, who was also their elder brother’s former coach.
“With Coach Kugimiya being their elder brother’s former long-time coach, it seems like fate that they would be trained by the same person who has contributed in shaping the recognition of gymnastics in the Philippines,” wrote the management in a Facebook post.
“I hope the two of them can be at ease and train with no worries here,” Coach Kugimiya was quoted as saying in a statement.
On her personal Facebook page, the Yulo matriarch cheered for her kids writing, “Lezzgo kids!”
Carlos’ younger siblings are deemed to carve their own paths in the field of gymnastics, earlier getting recognitions in the local and national gymnastics competitions.
In a previous interview, Elaiza and Eldrew revealed Carlos being their inspiration to enter the world of gymnastics.
The two recalled Carlos tagging them along in his trainings, and eventually prompted them to try the sport.
