Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala is reportedly courting award-winning actress Kathryn Bernardo.
According to a report by entertainment journalist Jojo Gabinete of PEP, Mayor Alcala is the latest name to be linked with Kathryn.
Following the Kapamilya star’s breakup with her long-time partner Daniel Padilla in 2023, Kathryn has been entangled in romance rumors with other actors, including Jericho Rosales, Alden Richards, Donny Pangilinan, and Dominic Roque.
On the other hand, Alcala was previously in a relationship with Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega. The ex-couple, however, confirmed their split after Mark won the mayoral election for Lucena City in 2022, PEP’s Gabinete reported.
In an interview with Ashley on March 3, 2023, she confirmed that she and Mark had parted ways shortly after he was elected mayor. The actress refrained from providing further details about their breakup.
In 2023, rumors surfaced about Mark’s alleged relationship with volleyball star Mika Reyes, who is the ex-girlfriend of actor Jerome Ponce.
It is worth noting that Mark previously played basketball for the La Salle Green Archers during his business management studies at De La Salle University.
The Cabinet Files source revealed that Mark and Mika have since separated, paving the way for the 30-year-old mayor to woo the popular actress.
Meanwhile, Kathryn, together with Alden, is currently in Canada to film “Hello, Love, Again,” the sequel to their 2019 blockbuster “Hello, Love, Goodbye”.
