Cat Arambulo has released a statement apologizing for her remarks in a now-deleted TikTok video.
In a shared TikTok post, Arambulo expressed how sorry she was regarding the “insensitive” comments that she made in the midst of a calamity.
“I deeply apologize for my insensitivity and my actions, especially during a time of crisis. I hear you and I will use this as a learning opportunity for myself and to teach my kids to be more socially aware and active,” Arambulo said.
She also promised to focus on helping the typhoon victims.
“I am now focusing my efforts on providing relief to different communities. My prayers go out to everyone affected,” she concluded her post.
Fans of the socialite and internet personality quickly came to her defense saying, “I think there’s nothing wrong with the floatie baha nga e, and you’re not making fun of people.”
“It was an innocent conversation with your family, and people don’t need to hate,” another commented in her apology post.
Recently, Arambulo trended over her remarks and conversations with her kids. One of these statements is her talking about using a floatie in the flooded areas, which did not sit well with the netizens.
Actress Bella Padilla definitely found the remark distasteful as she posted her reaction on her Instagram.
“You see people risking their lives for their loved ones and your question is if you and your kids can use a floatie here? Come on,” she initially stated.
Bela’s IG post was accompanied by a photo of a person in a flooded area, trying to survive with their pets.
“Could’ve been a nice teaching moment for your kids, but,” she added, followed by a shrugging woman emoji.
After the controversial video was released, people all over the internet immediately started commenting about her “out of touch” takes. Soon after, the video was taken down.
