Celebrity vlogger Alex Gonzaga revealed in a recent interview that she suffered from her second miscarriage last month.
In a vlog hosted by her sister, Toni Gonzaga, Alex disclosed that she and her husband, Mikee Morada, decided to undergo in-vitro fertilization (IVF) for their second attempt to conceive a child.
The actress-comedienne shared that she was inspired to try IVF after watching former US First Lady Michelle Obama’s personal experience.
“Nagdecide akong mag-IVF kasi nakita ko si Michelle Obama. Basta nakita ko sinabi niya na nagkaroon siya ng miscarriage then after two years, ‘di sila makapag conceive ni Barack (Obama), so sabi niya mag-IVF siya,” Alex told Toni.
She recounted the difficulties she went through during her in-vitro fertilization (IVF) journey to conceive again. Unfortunately, Alex was informed that the IVF procedure was unsuccessful last month.
Rumors ignited at the time after Alex’s Instagram post hinted at her possible pregnancy.
Alex also recently shared photos of her family’s costumes for Halloween where they were dressed as the characters from Disney’s animated film, Up.
In her post’s caption, she mentioned that those who remembered what occurred in the same month would understand the significance of their chosen characters.
The actress’ first miscarriage happened in October 2021.
When Alex learned that she had become pregnant through IVF and faced complications once again, she realized that she had been succumbing to the pressure from people around her, and chose to keep it private.
She felt like she had a conversation with God, asking herself why she was in such a hurry to get pregnant.
“Naiyak na ako parang naisip ko, oo nga ano bakit ba ako in a rush… kasi nape-pressure ako sa tao,” Alex said.
“Pressured na ako sa mga tao, uy ‘di pa ba nanganganak yan?,” she added.
According to Alex, she has now come to terms with the fact that her dream of having a baby may not come true again. Nevertheless, she chose to share her experience with everyone in the hope that it might help those in similar situations.
