Black Eyed Peas’ newly-released single MAMACITA with Latin trap superstar Ozuna features Pinay singer J. Rey Soul.
Released on April 10, MAMACITA marks the official reveal of 22-year-old Pinay-Black singer J. Rey Soul as part of the iconic hip-hop group.
J. Rey Soul became an official member of the Black Eyed Peas late 2018, taking over the female vocal parts of BEP songs after the original and only female bandmate Fergie left the group.
Born and raised in the Philippines, J. Rey Soul shares a similar story with bandmate Apl.de.Ap.
Formerly known as Jessica Reynoso, J. Rey Soul was a finalist in the first season of The Voice Philippines under Apl.De.Ap’s team in 2013.
Back then, Apl.De.Ap vowed to “work hard to make her known internationally”.
J. Rey Soul has been featured as a guest vocalist during BEP’s European, Latin America and Pacific tour legs in 2019.
She also performed with the group in the 2019 SEA Games closing ceremony.
