Alessandra De Rossi took to social media to ask netizens not to pit her against Angel Locsin after explaining her decision not to join rallies protesting the non-renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise.
The Through Day and Night star, who has been expressing her support for her home network on Twitter, earlier said that she’s opting to stay at home instead of attending street protests for fear of COVID-19.
In a tweet on Thursday, Alessandra pleaded with those trying to create an issue between her and Angel. “Please wag kami ni @143redangel mahal ko sya at iba respeto ko sa tapang nya,” she wrote.
Angel has actively participated in protests, both online and offline, calling on “silent” Kapamilya artists to speak up on their network’s franchise woes.
Alessandra went on to express her admiration for Angel’s charity works: “Sa totoo lang, paano ba sya pwede pasalamatan sa mga nagawa nya para makatulong sa bansa? Lahat ng sulok, narating nya.”
She added that Angel respects her fear of going out amid a pandemic: “Bilib ako pero, hindi ako sya. May respeto rin sya sa akin na takot lumabas.”
In another tweet, Alessandra said that her previous remarks have nothing to do with Angel, noting that their rival characters in the 2005 Darna series are on the same team in real life.
“Nakikiusap ako sa mga gumagawa ng gulo at headline. No!!! Mahal ko yan! Kung may gusto akong sabihin sa kanya, itatawag ko nalang. Bat magpaparinig? Iba sya, iba ako. Iba laban nya, iba din sa akin. Magkakampi si darna at valentina sa totoong buhay. I love you Angel ng lahat!”
Angel herself has only good words about Alessandra, saying in an Instagram story that their friendship has stood the test of time.
Alessandra also asked everyone to respect each other’s business, and reminded that it’s not the right time go against each other.
“Wag ako. Wag kami. Wag ngayon. Hindi ito ang tamang oras para magsisihan at magpagalingan. Kanya kanya to. Respeto. Respetooooo. Salamat po. Rakenrowl.”
