‘Kalma ako lang to’: Harry Roque reacts to viral Boracay memes

-

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque poked fun at himself in reaction to the viral photo of his recent trip to the newly-reopened Boracay Island, which has generated memes online.

Roque on Wednesday shared a series of his photo memes where his arms are stretched wide open as he invited the public to visit Boracay Island after it opened its doors to more local tourists last week.

“Akala nyo di ko nakikita. Tawa lang kayo. #kalmaAkoLangTo,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

Roque also had his own take on the hilarious edited photos of him being a basketball player, a cheerleader and an anime character, among others.

The Facebook post has since garnered various reactions and shared over 60,000 times as of writing.

In 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a six-month shutdown of Boracay to undergo cleanup and rehabilitation.

The country’s top tourist destination reopened in October 2019, but closed for the second time in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tourists are required to present a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) result taken 48 to 72 hours prior to travel to the island.
