Newly-built dormitory in Quezon City to house COVID-19 frontliners for free

The owner of a student dormitory in Tandang Sora, Quezon City has offered to accommodate COVID-19 frontliners as the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon is in effect.

An ABS-CBN report said that the newly-built dormitory with 105 rooms which measures 18 square meters each will be made available for free to health workers who are on the frontlines of the country’s battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

Each room also has its own comfort room, two bunk beds and tables.

There have been reports of frontliners being forced to walk to work amid the suspension of public mass transportation due to the implementation of community quarantine in Luzon.

“Nakita din namin yung mga balita na nahihirapan na yung medical personnel, ‘yong mga frontliners so anyway since walang estudyante sabi namin perfect yong solution nito,” said company president Beda Manalac in a DZMM interview.

In a separate statement from owner David Lim, shared by STAR columnist Wilson Lee Flores, the dormitory is now coordinating with all hospitals in Quezon City for the stay of their health workers.

“This is the least our family can do for all these frontliners risking their lives for us,” said Lim, whose other businesses are Green Sun Hotel in Makati and MyPhone.

For inquiries about the dormitory, interested LGUs, NGOs, or hospitals may contact them at 0917-8773533.
