Nag-issue ng Show Cause Order (SCO) ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) laban sa isang TNVS driver matapos ang naging malaswang komento nito patungkol sa aktres na si Xyriel Manabat.
Sa isang press release na inilabas ng LTFRB, sinabi nila na pinatawan na ng preventive suspension ang nasabing driver habang gumugulong ang imbestigasyon sa kaso.
“As initial action from your LTFRB, we have already suspended the operation of this TNVS pending the result of the ongoing investigation into the matter,” saad ni Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II.
Sa naturang SCO, inatasan ang driver na mag-undergo ng drug test at pinagsusubmit din siya ng mga vehicle-related documents.
Maliban dito, inatasan din ang driver na mag-submit ng written explanation kung bakit hindi dapat bawiin ang kanyang prangkisa.
“The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Enforcement Division, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) and other traffic enforcement agencies are hereby ordered to apprehend and impound the unit, if found operating as public utility vehicle,” saad sa SCO.
Kaugnay nito, magkakaroon naman ng hearing patungkol sa kaso sa April 28.
“Failure on the part of the Respondent TNVS Operator/ Driver to appear before the Hearing Officer and to file an Answer, shall be considered as a waiver on his part to be heard and shall cause the imposition of a penalty in the amount P5,000,” wika pa sa SCO.
Samantala, nanindigan naman si Mendoza na gagawin nilang accountable ang driver para sa mga naging actions nito laban kay Xyriel.
“No woman deserves to be treated this way. This is the reason behind our Bawal Bastos campaign, and this campaign against sexual harassment and discrimination in public transportation will serve as our motivation and basis in holding accountable this TNVS driver,” wika ni Mendoza.
