Gene Padilla recounted his brother Dennis Padilla’s pain and frustration for supposedly being excluded and disrespected during what should have been a meaningful event– his daughter Claudia Barreto’s wedding.
Dennis recently aired out his frustration after he was supposedly listed as a “visitor” and not the “bride’s father” at the wedding Claudia, his second daughter with former wife, marjorie Barretto.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Dennis wrote as : “Sagad sa buto. GRABE KAYO!! NABUDOL NYO AKO! FATHER OF THE BRIDE NAGING VISITOR. GALING NYO!”
Dennis’ post comes after he was spotted attending Claudia’s wedding, with clips showing him taking photos with the bride and groom.
Prior to the wedding, Dennis also shared in a now-deleted Instagram post a photo of him reuniting with Claudia, Leon, and Julia, his children with Marjorie.
Following Dennis’ emotionally charged posts on social media, his brother, Gene, came to the defense of the actor, narrating his brother’s emotional experience at his daughter’s big day.
Gene shared that he, along with Dennis and their mother arrived early from Bulacan to Alabang only to find out that Dennis was not included in the wedding program or entourage.
“Ngayon lang ako nakawitness ng kasal na di part ng program ang ama ng bride. Sa aga namin dun na nandun mga event organizer wala man lang nagsabi na di siya part ng program. Di kasama sa entourage na maglalakad sa gitna papuntang harapan ng altar…said Gene.
According to Gene, no one informed them in advance, and Dennis wasn’t given a proper seat or role and was only told to sit near the godparents.
The situation apparently brought Dennis and their mother to tears, continued Gene.
“Kaya kami ni kuya dennis pumunta na lamang sa likuran…napaluha at napaiyak si kuya sa mga nangyari…kaya sabi ko umuwi na tayo after ng simbahan at papicture na lang sa kinasal.”
Feeling disrespected and heartbroken, they decided to leave after the church ceremony.
Gene expressed deep pain for Dennis, especially as a fellow parent, criticizing how fame and wealth have overshadowed family respect.
“Naawa din ako sa nanay ko kasi naiyak na rin… naramdaman ko yung sakit na naramdaman ng kapatid at nanay ko dahil ama din ako.
Gene called out the bride and her siblings, saying their father has long been reaching out, trying to mend things, and asking for attention or connection—but has been ignored or rejected over the years.
“Ang tagal na panahon na nanunuyo at nahingi ng atensyon ama niyo sa inyo mga anak…yan ba itinanim ng mga nakapaligid sa inyo…. puro kayo karangyaan at kasikatan… sa inyo na lahat yan… sanay kami sa hirap at di talaga kami nababagay sa inyo… pero pinag kaiba namin sa inyo ay yung puso namin at dignidad di niyo kaya pantayan…kahit magtanong kayo sa ibang magulang tama ba o mali ang ginawa niyo sa tatay niyo???
