The youngest child of the late veteran actress Jaclyn Jose, Gwen Guck, has reportedly returned to Manila to pay his final respects to his mother.
According to ABS-CBN News’ report, Guck’s arrival was welcomed by Diego Cerrudo and his father, musician Bo Cerrudo, who picked him up at the airport on Saturday morning.
During Bo’s heartfelt message at the PPL Entertainment tribute night for Jaclyn, he shared that Gwen, who shares a close bond with his son, will be staying with their family.
Diego and Gwen were said to be high school bandmates at Ateneo.
“Gwen is my best friend and practically his older brother. We’re that close po,” Diego expressed in a text message, describing their strong friendship.
Bo’s son also revealed that they were eagerly awaiting Gwen’s return to the country, with plans for him to rejoin their band, saying, “We are waiting for Gwen to come back to Philippines for good for him to join the band again.”
Prior to Gwen’s arrival, questions arose about his potential return from the United States where he is currently studying.
Actor Gabby Eigenmann, Jaclyn’s stepson with late husband Mark Gil, addressed the issue in an interview with PEP, saying they were waiting for feedback from Guck if he could make it to his mother’s final wake.
Gabby also mentioned that, even if Gwen is unable to make it for the final night, they are allowing a grace period of one day for his potential arrival.
The final night of Jose’s wake, as well as the private inurnment scheduled for Sunday, was reserved for relatives and close friends. The family opted for a more private setting to mourn the passing of the multi-awarded actress.
Jaclyn tragically passed away on the morning of March 2 due to a myocardial infarction or heart attack, according to her daughter, Andi Eigenmann. She was 60 years old.
