The Filipino music scene is witnessing an exciting new era, with Filipina artists stepping into the spotlight and taking over the stage.
In 2024, Moira dela Torre made a historical feat as first Filipina artist to ever surpass two billion streams on Spotify across all her songs, becoming the first solo Filipino artist to do so.
Her solo success was matched by the rise of P-pop girl group sensation BINI, whose four singles—“Karera,” “Pantropiko,” “Salamin, Salamin,” and “Cherry on Top”—dominated the airwaves, earning them the title of Billboard Philippines’ No. 1 Artist of 2024.
Beyond mainstream success, Filipina artists are also taking over digital platforms. Denise Julia mastered the TikTok game, thanks to her viral R&B hit “NVMD.” Rising star Ashtine Olviga, heroine of Viva Studios’ “Ang Mutya ng Section E” TV series adaptation, is also carving her own path as a singer. In time for National Women’s Month, StarCast Exclusives launched its “Femme Fatale: Women of OPM” poll on March 19, 2025, running until 8:00 PM on April 10, 2025.
