Social media users celebrated the legacy of the late Jaclyn Jose by sharing their favorite scenes and roles of the veteran actress, who passed away at the age of 60.

Born Mary Jane Santa Ana Guck, Jaclyn left an indelible mark on the entertainment landscape, earning numerous awards throughout her acting career.

Known for her “subtle” and “powerful” acting performances which coined the term “no acting” method, Jaclyn showcased this approach notably in Brillante Mendoza’s 2016 film Ma’ Rosa, earning her the Best Actress award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

This historic win marked the Philippines’ first Best Actress triumph at the prestigious festival.

Ma’ Rosa is only just one of the numerous revered TV series and films that Jaclyn starred in including Mula Sa Puso, Cedie, Macho Dancer, Takaw Tukso, Imortal, The Flor Contemplacion Story, Kalel 15, and Patay na si Hesus, among others.

The news of Jaclyn’s passing has elicited an outpouring of grief and tributes from fans resulting in her name becoming one of the top trending topics on X.

The social media platform had become a virtual space for netizens to share their favorite films and moments featuring Jose, and celebrate the legacy of the late actress.

Many expressed their gratitude for the actress’s impactful contributions to Philippine cinema and how her performances had left a lasting impression on their lives.

Jaclyn’s daughter, Andi Eigenmann, recently released an official statement regarding her untimely passing during a press conference on Monday, March 4.

Earlier, her talent management, PPL Entertainment, stated that “the Guck and Eigenmann families are requesting for everyone to allow them respect and privacy to mourn her passing”.
