A Pinay based in Zamboanga City shared a unique story on how she met her foreigner husband online!

25-year-old Greshiell Miller said that their love story with now husband, Greydin Miller, all started in a meme post on Facebook.

He saw my comment and then he said he found me cute. He sent me a friend request, and then sent me a message,” Greshiell told The Philippine STAR.

For his part, Greydin, a US citizen, said that he found it amazing to know that they have the same nickname. He then made his first move to Greshiell around June 2021.

“I have found her unique first name and I’ve never really seen it before. When I was  passing through Facebook and I happen to see her name is Grey, I was like “Oh, that’s pretty cool.” I clicked on her Facebook profile and yes, she just struck me as very gorgeous, and I had to get to know her more,” Greydin echoed.

At first, Greshiell admitted that she had reservations about Greydin’s intention.

“Sabi ko scammer ba ‘to? “Baka poser ito.” sabi kong ganun,” she noted.

Greydin and Greshiell’s relationship became official on November 3, 2021.

She stressed that her family was also worried about their relationship.

“Sabi nila ‘Sure ka ba talaga? Malayo ‘yan.’ Tapos una po may doubt sila sabi, ‘Ano ‘yan? Sundalo?’

Adding,”Greydin is the kind of man na papatunayan niya po talaga sainyo na sobra niya po talaga kayong gusto. Kaya laging nagbibigay ng reassurance, laging nagbibigay ng time.

Greydin traveled 14 hours from the US to finally meet Greshiell in September 2023.

“Matagal din kaming bago kami nakapag-meet dahil na rin po sa work niya,” said Greshiell.

After two months, the couple got married in a civil wedding in Valenzuela City last October 3, 2023.

Greshiell is a single mother and she said that never in her wildest dream that she would find a man to be her husband online.

“Very rare po talaga ‘yung encounter namin. Sabi ko, parang weird and at the same time I can feel that he is really my soulmate based lang po talaga sa similarities namin,” she noted.

“It’s definitely very different than the common way to meet someone. We actually have been joking about that. What if she never made a comment, or what if I never made the first move. We are just happy that it happened the way it had happened. I would have never thought that I would meet my wife through a comment on Facebook, and yet I did. I couldn’t be any happier that it happened the way it happened,” Greydin added.

Greydin is currently working at the US Air Force. While Greshiell is arranging her papers together with her son to finally be with her husband abroad.

Greshiell has a message to the public for stereotyping Pinays marrying a foreigner.

“Sinasabi po nila ‘yung AFAM na salita– ah, pag Pinay nakapag asawa ng ganito, pera ang habol, or visa, or green card, ganun. Pero I know in myself na hindi po ganun ‘yung love story namin, hindi po ganun ‘yung purpose ng relationship namin. As long as you know that your intentions are pure, dedmahin lang,” she stressed.
