-

All BLACKPINK members will continue their group activities with YG Entertainment after did not renew their contracts for their solo careers with the label.

“BLACKPINK recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities,” YG noted in a press release on Friday.

YG added they will support the quartet’s activities and will “cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts”.

YG earlier announced on December 6 that after a “careful discussion”, members of the hit girl band, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, have signed their exclusive contracts for group activities.

The label’s executive producer, Yang Hyun Suk, stated, “We are happy to be able to continue our relationship with BLACKPINK.”

“BLACKPINK will continue to do their best to shine even brighter in the global music market as artists representing not only our agency but also K-pop, and we send our unwavering support and faith for their future steps,” he added.

Jennie, meanwhile, recently revealed establishing her own label OA (Odd Atelier) which she founded last November.

Following the end of the members’ contract with YG Entertainment in August, speculations grew among fans and non-fans regarding the fate of one of the most successful all-female K-pop acts.

Meanwhile, the K-pop royalties received a “royal” treatment from the British monarch where they were personally named by King Charles III as new Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
