JK Labajo confirms hit song Ere is inspired by breakup with Maureen Wroblewitz

“Kung hindi obvious, ewan ko na lang!”

This was singer-actor JK Labajo’s response to questions about the inspiration behind his popular “breakup” song, Ere, which he revealed was also from his own heartbreaking experience.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, JK, also popularly known as Juan Karlos, did not hesitate to admit that the hit song was inspired by his split with Maureen Wroblewitz.

This was during a TikTok event last Monday, Dec. 11, where JK was among the attendees.

“Kung hindi obvious, ewan ko na lang!” JK told the press.

“Well, I’m not really hiding anything, it’s a super given thing that the whole thing was for a breakup. ‘Ere’ is one of the songs that I made for my relationship that ended, so that’s it,” the singer explained.

“What part of the song? The whole song! Surprise!” he added.

JK achieved a historic milestone after Ere became the first Filipino song to enter Spotify’s global charts.

Last month, JK also shared an anecdote about his “naiwan sa ere” moment which was seemingly about Maureen.

JK and Maureen ended their relationship after two years of being together last June 2022.
