‘Akala ko tatakbong konsehal’: Siblings surprise younger sister with grad tarp in Manila, US

-

This netizen from Cabanatuan City recently shared her sibling’s hilarious surprise after she graduated with a degree in BS management accounting.

On TikTok, Kristina Mari Baltazar shared photos of her graduation tarpaulin ‘travelling’ around their hometown. It even reached Manila and the United States.

“This surprise po is actually planned mainly by my kuyas and ate po. I thought wala po silang ginagawang anything na pasabog or plans for my graduation, kasi normal lang po ‘yung kilos nila sa bahay. Not knowing na may plano po pala sila na ipa-tarp ’yung graduation pic ko everywhere in Cabanatuan City even sa basurahan. Umabot nga rin po ng Manila at America,” Baltazar shared with The Philippine STAR.

Baltazar’s siblings, who work in Manila and the US, didn’t miss the chance to celebrate their younger sister’s academic achievement.

She added that her parents were also shocked by the big tarpaulin and how her photo reached overseas.

“Speechless din [‘yung parents ko] and sobrang laki po ng ngiti nila. Sobrang touched and surprised po ako the moment na binandera nila ’yung tarp ko sa university namin kahit medyo nakakahiya po kasi ako lang ’yung may tarpaulin dun sa graduation ceremony. I am always thankful and blessed po kasi sila ’yung naging family ko,” Baltazar noted.

“Too much effort po ang binigay nila, napaka priceless and unforgettable po nung moment na ’yun for me, kasi for once in my life, I wholeheartedly felt special. Kaya kahit gaano po kalayo ang marating ko sa life, palagi kong baon ’yung special memory na ‘yun! I couldn’t ask for more, my family is simply the best,” she added.

As of this writing, the TikTok post has already garnered more than 230,000 views.

The online community had a good laugh after seeing Baltazar’s post.

“Akala ko tatakbong konsehal o kapitana si ate,” a netizen said in jest.

“Malayo pa, pero nakalayo na. Literal na ang layo ng narating mo, ate!” another said.
