‘Foreshadowing?’: David Licauco’s old rants about Jose Rizal subject resurface online

-

David Licauco’s old tweets ranting about his Jose Rizal subject in school have resurfaced and netizens have the best reactions.

While the Jose Rizal novels-inspired series “Maria Clara at Ibarra” is in its last few weeks, fans have unearthed David’s tweets as a student airing his honest thoughts on studying a Jose Rizal subject for his final exams.

“Hassle Joseriz… What do we care about Jose Rizal’s girls and vices!,” David, who stars as Fidel in the series, wrote in a tweet in 2013.

“Studying Jose Rizal’s life for Finals. Ano makukuha ko dito?,” he said in another tweet.

Maria Clara at Ibarra head writer Suzette Doctolero teased David about his resurfaced tweets, relating it to Klay’s fate in the series. Klay, played by Barbie Forteza, is David’s love interest in the series.

@davidlicauco  lols ayan napasok ka tuloy sa nobela gaya ni Bb Klay. Nahalungkat nila,,” said Doctolero, alongside a screenshot of David’s old tweets.

“Omg hahahahaha,” replied David.

In the series, Klay, a Gen Z nursing student, got transported to the world of Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere where she met the novel’s fictional characters such as Maria Clara, Crisostomo Ibarra, Sisa, and Padre Salvi.

Fans have since poked fun at David’s past tweets.

“Mala Klay naman pala e HAHAHAHAHA pinasok sa libro pero hindi belong sa totoong kwento HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA”

“The design is very Klay.”

“Nakuha mo ang role. Kahit wala ka sa libro. Hehehe”

“The Klaynification of David Licauco”

“Who would have thought…almost a decade after…”

“Naurrr the foreshadowing is giving Klay, kaya bagay talaga sila ni Fidel”
