‘Level up?’: Iwa Moto in shock after street kid asks for digital alms

-

Iwa Moto was left dumbfounded when a street kid asked the actress to send alms through a digital wallet and online payment app.

The Starstruck alumna took to TikTok to share the unusual experience she had with some street kids after going out to buy something from a shop in their village.

Iwa shared that she didn’t bring a bag with her except her car key and cellphone since the shop accepts mobile wallet payment.

“Hindi ako nagdala ng bag. Ang dala ko lang ay susi ng kotse tsaka telepono ko kasi nga may e-wallet naman doon,” she said.

When she was about to exit the store, three street kids approached her and begged for alms.

“Sabi nung pinakamatangkad, ‘Ma’am, ma’am, pangkain lang po kasi gutom na kami.’ Sabi naman nung middle na bata, para makauwi na daw sila,” Iwa quoted the street kids saying.

Iwa then reasoned out to the street children that she has no cash with her, only to be astounded with the other kid’s response.

“So sumagot ako. Sabi ko, ‘wala akong barya e’… Alam niyo ba kung anong sabi nung maliit na bata? ‘Ma’am, ako po tumatanggap ng GCash,’ Iwa said referring to the e-wallet platform.

“I was like, ‘Ano?'” Iwa re-enacted her confused reaction. “‘Ma’am tumatanggap ako ng Gcash, may Gcash ako,’ tapos naglabas ng telepono.

“Ah hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko,” Iwa said laughingly with her “stressed out” look.

Netizens, meanwhile, shared hilarious reaction over Iwa’s experience.

“Lupet nak-GCash na nakikisabay daw po sila sa trend.”

“Nag-level up na ang mga beggars (ngayon).”

“Scan na lang po yung QR.”

“Buti pa sila may GCash ako wala.”

“SAMEEE! May namamalimos samin kanina, sabi ko wala akong cash. Sabi ba naman ‘pwede pong gcash, pwede rin pong paymaya’ SHOOKT IZ ME JUSKO.”
