This husband made sure to have the “best” present for his wife for their first wedding anniversary!
Donnald Ponce said that his wife, Ellia Ponce, is currently saving up for her dream mobile phone. Until someone offered a pre-loved iPhone pro max.
At first, the couple, who are both entrepreneurs, planned to sell the phone to have additional income.
“Meron kasi nagpost online na rush sale ‘yung Iphone, so emergency sale daw ‘yon so sobrang baba ng price, although mababa ‘yung price still more expensive than Iphone 13 regular. We decided originally na i-resell namin para mabili namin ‘yung 13 na regular lang para meron siya cellphone, para may kaunting kita pa kami,” Donnald shared.
“Naisipan ko rin naman gustong-gusto niya talaga ng pro max and ‘di ko muna sinabi sa kanya, na para sa kanya talaga ‘yon. Pero naghanap na siya ng buyer, ang dami na niyang iniisip kung sino pwede bumili noon para may kaunting kita kami, syempre business kuno,” he added.
Donnald was able to capture the moment when he decided to hand out the surprise. In the video, Ellia thought it was just a prank.
“Sure ka? Akin to? Di ko talaga ‘to na expect. Akin ‘to? Bahala ka dyan, wag mo kong i-prank. Sa’kin ‘to? Sa’kin ‘to? Wag mo kong i-joke ha,” Ellia can be heard saying in the video while crying.
Donnald said that he expected that his wife would be surprised on his anniversary gift but was shocked on the genuine reaction of Ellia.
“After pag-order nga namin, noong binigay ko sa kanya nawalan na kami ng gana kumain kasi sa sobra parang overwhelmed na sa surprise,” he recalled.
“Akala ko prank lang kasi si Tim, mahilig siya sa prank as in prank lahat, parang lahat as in so ‘yung sa video na ‘yon akala ko prank lang kasi as in pero nung sinabi niya sa akin ‘yung cellphone na ‘yon sabi ko “Ha? Sure ka, akin ‘to?” So paulit-ulit ko talaga sinabi sa kanya kung totoo ba ‘yon. Totoo talaga tapos sabi niya,” Ellia said.
Donnald said that it was a mission accomplished! “Happy wife na, happy life ganon,” he stressed.

Donnald and Ellia met on a dating app in 2021. After a month, Donnald proposed to her. The couple got married on September 7.
“Thank you love, thank you for everything. Naka support lang ako sa’yo and alam mo naman ako grateful ako sa lahat and ‘yung husband ko kasi very generous as in. Diyan ako na inlove, kasi generous talaga siya, mapagbigay talaga siya sa lahat,” Ellia said when asked for a message to her husband.
