Comedienne-actress Herlene Budol, a.k.a. Hipon Girl, is among the applicants for the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant.
Sharing photos of her makeup and swimsuit look, Herlene revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that she’s trying her luck in the national pageant.
In a recent interview on broadcaster Karen Davila’s YouTube vlog, Herlene shared that it was her manager, vlogger-entrepreneur Wilbert Tolentino who encouraged her to join the beauty pageant.
The 22-year-old admitted that she feels nervous about entering the national pageant scene for the first time.
“May kaba po sobra kasi ‘yung utak ko medyo hindi masyadong pasado sa standard siguro ng Binibining Pilipinas, pang-barangay lang po ako,” said Herlene citing that she once hailed as Binibining Angono ng Sining in 2017.
The former Wowowin host also shared the training she’s been getting for the pageant under the Kagandahang Flores training camp: “’Yung utakan po, ‘yun po ‘yung dinagdagan po nila sa akin kasi wala po akong konting knowledge about sa kung paano po ang communication.
Relating that she has received criticisms over her decision to join Bb. Pilipinas, Herlene said that she’s not joining for the sake of others but to improve and prove oneself.
Herlene, who went from a contestant to a regular co-host in Willie Revillame’s variety game show Wowowin, recently shared a vlog that documented her first-ever car purchase with her first salary from vlogging.
