Angel Locsin couldn’t care less about what people had to say about her body figure.
In a recent interview with comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz, Kapamilya addressed the recurring body shaming comments she’s been receiving.
“Yes, malaki ako. Eh, ano naman ngayon? Bakit, may kawalan ba?” said Angel.
She added in jest, “Minsan kung makalait pa ‘yung iba, tinitingnan ko ‘yung profile picture, excuse me naman sa ’yo ha.
The actress-philanthropist went on to tell how she would feel when she’s criticized for her weight online.
“Syempre parang ayaw mo namang manglait ng tao parang ‘okay, sige.’ Minsan naman mapapa-smile lang ako na parang ‘ouch’ nahiritan ako pero pagtingin ko sa profile pic, ‘okay lang,’” she said laughingly.
Angel said she has been trying to lose weight but doesn’t really care about others’ opinions on her body.
“I’m trying, but I’m not trying my best. I don’t really care. I’m Angel Locsin, na-develop ko ‘yung sarili ko nang kung anuman ako ngayon, I don’t really care.
“What I mean is I don’t care kung ano’ng opinyon ng ibang tao. Okay ako, eh. Ganda ko sa paningin ng asawa ko,” said Angel referring to her husband Neil Arce.
Angel furthered that her size does not define her as a person.
“I mean, darating din tayo diyan; kung papayat ka, papayat ka. But it’s not an issue. Ang pagiging Angel Locsin ko ay hindi nasusukat kung gaano ako kabigat.”
“Alam ko ang dami kong na-prove sa sarili ko, sa ibang tao, so okay na ako ‘dun. Bahala na kung anong sasabihin. Okay lang, wala po akong pakialam.”
Angel, who’s yet to make her TV comeback, recently returned to Marawi City for presidential bet Vice President Leni Robredo’s campaign sortie.
To recall, Angel visited the city in 2017 to help in the distribution of relief goods to victims of Marawi clash.
