Diego Loyzaga reconciles with father Cesar Montano after 7 years

-

After being distant for seven years, Diego Loyzaga has buried the hatchet with his father, veteran actor Cesar Montano.

It could be recalled that Diego’s relationship with Cesar had been strained for some time now.

The actor took to Twitter on Thursday, March 3, to talk about their reunion, where they bonded over basketball. Furthermore, he apologized to him and talked about how God brought them together after many mistakes.

“7 years is a long time for a son not to see his father. After seven years, after mistakes, God made a way to bring us together again. I apologize for the impulsiveness of my youth. If we could take back the words and the distance and the time wasted, I would,” he wrote.

He also shared throwback photos of Cesar carrying and playing with him when he was a baby, while further saying that they should make up for lost time and one should value time spent with family and loved ones.

“One thing we can do is make up for it. It was so good to see you & play ball with you today. Value your family & loved ones today for tomorrow is not promised,” he said.

Diego concluded his piece by wishing how apologizing should be enough to fix the problems of the world.

“As I mature, the more I wish saying sorry was enough to fix all of the world’s problems. Just peace and love & nothing else matters.” he said.

Last 2017, Diego lashed out at Cesar in a now-deleted Instagram post, saying the latter threatened to call the police at him for using prohibited drugs.

Moreover, he recalled the time he got kicked out of the house Cesar gave him back when he was 21 years old.

In a press conference last July 2021, Diego expressed missing his father and how he wanted to make amends with him.

By November 2021, he revealed in an interview that he and Cesar have been on speaking terms after the latter contracted COVID-19.

Diego is Cesar’s son to actress Teresa Loyzaga.
