Yassi Pressman shares how surfing has helped her mental health

On World Mental Health Day, Yassi Pressman shared how surfing opened up many realizations on her relationship with her own mental health.

The actress took time to share her thoughts to encourage her fans to believe in themselves and take care of their peace.

While surfing wasn’t easy for a newbie like her but with patience and determination to keep trying, she managed to make her surfing experience in Siargao a life-long lesson.

“Take a couple of breaths in a spot where the waves are calmer, and when you are ready… Start paddling back… Get back to the beginning, no matter how well you do, take the risk,” were the words Yassi told herself to keep going.

The 26-year-old shared that this process was a lot like how she takes care of her mental health.

“Sharing this story, ’cause I felt like it did me well. Hope this story also encourages others to keep believing in themselves. Don’t give up! Take care of yourself, your mental health, your peace. Find people and places that make you happy,” she ended.

Back in September, Yassi opened up on how another physical activity has helped save her from a dark time in her life.

In a past social media post, she shared how boxing helped her find her purpose and pushed her to do better.
