Sharon Cuneta has warned fans that the official trailer of her upcoming film Revirginized “will shock you.”
The teaser has since generated three million views within 12 hours of its release on Sunday, July 4, on social media.
In the four-minute trailer, Sharon plays Carmela, a woman trying to move forward from the collapse of her marriage with her longtime husband. Then the trailer shows Carmela partying with younger people, unleashing a different side of her.
Sharon wrote on Instagram that the movie is “very, very different from all the other roles” that she had played, and “this movie is the opposite of all the movies” she ever starred in.
The megastar followed: “You have never seen or heard dialogue from me like you will in this movie.”
She then asked fans to just have fun and not forget that she earned the right to try out new roles after 43 years as a singer-actress.
“Thank you so much. I love you all and am proud of this movie. Don’t worry – I am still the same ‘Sharon’ who will still be doing the kind of movies you have loved seeing me in!”
Sharon teams up with Marco Gumabao in Revirginized that will be released on Aug. 9 on Vivamax. The film also features Albert Martinez, Rossana Roces and Cristina Gonzales.
It is also Sharon’s first project with her mother studio Viva Films, after 18 years since her last movie project, Walang Kapalit.
Revirginized is directed by Darryl Yap, who also directed the films 69+1, Gluta, Paglaki Ko, Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar and Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam.
