#BeCo or #BeVico?
Netizens and even celebrities are shipping Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and actress Bea Alonzo after they were pictured together during a turnover of donations for the city’s frontliners.
Bea took to social media on Saturday to share that her charitable organisation I AM HOPE donated relief bags and disinfectants for Pasig’s garbage collectors and street sweepers.
“Hi Mama! Nakilala ko na ang paborito mo! Joke,” Bea began her post, referencing a line from her hit film Four Sisters and A Wedding, where she played the daughter of Vico’s real-life mother, actress Coney Reyes.
Bea also said that the donation was in line with the celebration of Father’s Day this Sunday.
“In line with Father’s Day, we intend to celebrate the fathers who choose to serve the community by cleaning the streets and picking up our garbage. MARAMING SALAMAT PO sa mga tatay na street sweepers at garbage collectors sa pagtulong sa ating kumunidad at sa pagttrabaho ng marangal para sa kanilang pamilya. From the I AM HOPE FAMILY, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!”
In a separate post by Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo, he said that I AM HOPE Organization donated food packs for the benefit of “100 fathers who are hard everyday as sweepers in City of Pasig.”
Vico left a comment on Bea’s post, thanking and congratulating her and friends for the work that they do to help frontline workers.
Bea replied: “You’re welcome. We, at I AM HOPE, are so inspired seeing how the people of Pasig look up to you and respect you. Thank you for the worth (heart emoji).”
Their first meeting elicited heart reacts and kilig comments from fans and friends, who couldn’t help but tease the two for looking “bagay.”
One of Bea’s closest friends and One More Chance co-star Dimples Romana said: “Ay o napangiti ako. Kind hearts.”
She also reminded Bea that she was discovered for showbiz in a Pasig pageant: “Basha, naalala ko lang, hindi ba’t Binibining Santolan Pasig 2001 kaaaaa?”
Dimples also agreed with their other One More Chance co-star Janus del Prado to call their ship name #BeyVico.
Janus also said, “Hindi mo ba alam yung three feet rule, Basha? #LastKoNaYan, Happy for you Paps #BeVico and #BeyVico.”
Talent manager Noel Ferrer also commented: “In fairness @beaalonzo, bagay kayo ni Mayor @vicosotto! Ipagpepray ko yan Tita @coneyreyes.”
Netizens also had a field day referencing some of the famous dialogues from Bea’s past roles as Bobbie Salazar (Four Sisters and A Wedding) and Basha (One More Chance).
“Sana kayo na lang,” one commented.
Another said, “When Bobbie meets Vico the favorite anak,” while another commenter reacted,” OMG THE CROSSOVER I NEVER THOUGHT I NEEDED.”
