Angel Locsin urges crowd at birthday community pantry to avail of free COVID-19 test

-

Angel Locsin encouraged those who flocked to her community pantry to avail of the free COVID-19 swab testing offered by the local government of Quezon City.

In a recent Instagram post, Angel shared a screenshot of Quezon City Government’s Facebook post calling on the residents to get tested for COVID-19 for free.

“According to CESU chief Dr. Rolando Cruz, residents who are showing COVID-19 symptoms such as flu and cough after going to yesterday’s event at the Titanium Bldg., Brgy. Holy Spirit need to come forward and have themselves checked,” read the said facebook post.

The Kapamilya actress also shared the link and hotlines where affected residents can book their appointment.

Personalities commended for making such a call.

“Yes! Please pa swab po kayo to make sure you are safe. Good action by the QC government to offer this free testing ASAP!”

To recall, the community pantry set up by Angel at Bgry. Holy Spirit on her birthday last Friday faced controversy after a huge number of people showed up and became uncontrollable.

A senior citizen named Rolando dela Cruz, who was waiting in line, also passed out and eventually died of heart attack.

Angel has since apologized for the incident and offered to give assistance to the bereaved family of Rolando.

Rolando’s family, meanwhile, earlier said that they are not blaming the actress for what happened and expressed their gratitude to Angel for shouldering the expenses at the hospital.
