E.A.T’s Joey De Leon and Eat Bulaga’s Isko Moreno have shared their reaction over the noontime shows’ TV ratings performance last July 1.
July 1 marked the return of Joey, along with original “Dabarkads” hosts’s return to live television via E.A.T’s pilot episode on TV5 network, a month after they left Eat Bulaga and parted ways with its producer Television and Production Exponent (TAPE), Inc.
A data by Nielsen NUTAM showed E.A.T. garnered an “average program rating” of 8.4 percent. It’s Showtime totaled a combined rating of 3.94 percent afte airing on three different channels. Eat Bulaga, meanwhile, got 2.62 percent.
Expressing his gratitude to their viewers, Joey posted a groufie photo of him with Vic and Tito, along with other E.A.T co-hosts inside an elevator.
“Ganito kaliit lang ang studio namin sa TV5, parang elevator pero 1,000 floors naman ang taas ng ibinigay nyong pagpansin sa amin…lagpas helicopter! ?”.
Although netizens can’t help think the host was alluding to It’s Showtime’s grand opening number where mainstay Vice Ganda rode a helicopter from ABS-CBN’s headquarters going to GMA Network during the show’s premiere episode on GTV.
Isko, meanwhile, shared his thoughts on how Eat Bulaga fared versus E.A.T and It’s Showtime, saying it was “understandable”. The noontime show happened to have celebrated its “first monthsary” on July 1.
“There’s so much hype, drama [that] happened in the past weeks and day,” Isko explained during an interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.
Admitting that there was “so much pressure”, Isko nevertheless, assured his Eat Bulaga co-hosts before the show’s July 1 episode started, to “Be ourselves” and “We have nothing to prove”.
“Nasa isang room kami, and I told them, ‘Guys, I’ve seen so many failures in life, I’ve seen success, I’ve seen challenges, but one good thing about today, we’re gonna be part of history. Let’s enjoy this afternoon because at the end of the day, tao ang mananalo dito,” he said.
Isko also stressed that there should be no hatred in the competition among the noontime shows.
“Kumbaga, parang ang point ko, let’s not create hate and expect somebody for you to fail for you to go up. Para tumaas ka, aapakan mo ‘yung likod nang may likod o paa nang may paa.
“This is our job. Let’s be the best that we can be, at the same time, we should be proud na panalo dito ngayon ‘yung viewers so magtulungan tayo,” he said.
