‘Inaalagaan ko hindi ko kakilala pero Mommy ko hindi ko maalagaan’: Daughter based in Australia reunites with sick mother after three years

-

This mother was in and out of the hospital due to her existing illnesses. One day, her daughter based in Australia decided to surprise her.

At first, Mommy Mindamar did not immediately recognize Linda. It took her a couple of seconds to finally greet Linda! She can’t believe that Linda was finally home!

Daughter Lynda Amar Yee was thankful that her homecoming was in time for her mom’s minor surgery. She was able to accompany her in the hospital for four days.

Uploader Cybell Marie Lemana was able to capture the much-awaited reunion after three years!

“Her arrival was a surprise for our family. My lola was so shocked because she did not expect. Sabi niya the past few days she and her daughter were video calling and then parang a few days after na surprise siya kasi nakauwi ‘yung anak niya,” Zybel recalled.

Linda wasn’t able to come home to her family in the Philippines due to her work and the ongoing pandemic.

Linda said she really wanted to spend some time with her sick mother.

Mommy Mindamar is currently undergoing dialysis three times a week. She also has heart problem and diabetes.

“When I got the chance na makauwi, grinab ko na talaga kahit two weeks lang. I requested my leave few months prior pa pero dahil sa pandemic hindi ma-approve approve kasi kulang ng nurses. Tapos nung gusto man naming umuwi nung may sakit siya hindi din pwede kasi pandemic nga,” she added.

Linda felt nothing but happiness upon seeing her mother after years of working abroad as a nurse.

“As in overjoyed tsaka din naawa ako sa mukha niya parang tumanda agad. Kasi three years ko siyang ‘di nakita since nagstart ng dialysis.

Parang ganun,” she added.

Linda said she really wanted to stay with her mom in the Philippines but it would be practical for them if she would continue working abroad for her medical and everyday expenses.

Be strong lang at alam naman natin na nag aabroad tayo for our family. Isipin lang natin na kaya natin dahil sa pamilya natin tsaka fight lang din kasi kung doon tayo mas marami tayong matutulungan.” she said when asked about her message to fellow overseas Filipino workers.

Linda has been working as a nurse for 20 years.

“Fight lang, Mommy! You’re doing a great job sa health mo tsaka thank you sa lahat lahat na ginawa mo sa amin. We love you, mahal ka namin,” Linda said.
