Dennis Trillo hit back at actress Gelli De Belen after she weighed in on the renewed controversy involving Patrick Garcia and Jennylyn Mercado.
The issue resurfaced after Patrick publicly addressed the online backlash involving his daughter and his past with Jennylyn, with their son Alex Jazz also being dragged into the discussion.
During an episode of GTV’s Chika Cart, Gelli emphasized that the focus should be on the children, saying, “Hindi kailangang maging ganito kalaki kasi the reason why this was brought up was because nasasaktan yung anak ni Patrick.”
She acknowledged that Patrick was likely acting out of concern for his daughter, saying it was difficult to judge his decision to speak out “in the name of defending his child.”
Gelli called for everyone involved to move forward for the sake of the children. While she acknowledged that Patrick was acting as a father who wanted to protect his child, she also stressed that the kids should not have to carry the weight of their parents’ issues.
“Kampi ako sa mga bata (Jazz and Michelle),” Gelli said, adding that the children are the ones who ultimately have to deal with whatever is being said about their families online.
Her remarks appeared to draw Dennie ire, with the actor taking to the comments section to defend his family.
“Nananahimik kami… lahat yan ay natural na reaksyon ng matinong TAO! Pasalamat kayo, dinaan ko nalang sa ganyan. Oo kawawa talaga mga bata, may mga anak din kami! Sisihin mo yung nagsimula ng gulo!” Dennis wrote.
He followed it up with another pointed comment, asking, “Ako lang ba o parang may kinakampihan ang mga magagaling na ito?” before sarcastically congratulating Gelli on her new GTV show.
“Congrats sa new show sa GTV!!!! bagay na bagay kayo jan,” he added, ending the remark with several poop emojis.
Trillo also appeared to take another swipe at those agreeing with Gelli commenting, “Agree lang ng agree ang mga #8080.”
