Before Patrick Garcia’s viral tell-all interview, Jennylyn Mercado and the actor, along with his wife, Nikka Garcia, had once upon a time set aside their differences and formed a cordial relationship, even creating sweet memories with their blended family.
Back in 2016, Nikka revealed that she reached out to Jennylyn following her engagement to Patrick in 2014, saying that they wanted Jazz, Jennylyn and Patrick’s first-born son, to be part of their wedding day.
“Kung anong importante sa akin, importante rin sa kanya,” Patrick said in an interview then in “Magandang Buhay.”
“Nag-reply agad si Jen, nag-meet kami, and I really stepped out in faith,” shared Nikka. “I told her na, ‘Okay, if I’m gonna be a part of Patrick’s life, I’m gonna also have to be a part of Jazz’s life, one way or another.’”
Nikka didn’t tell Patrick about the plan until she came home one day and revealed that she had already met with Jennylyn and asked if Jazz could be a ring bearer at their wedding.
“I was very happy. I didn’t expect na gagawin niya ’yun. It melted my heart kasi as much as I want to always be there for him, hindi ko nagagawa kasi, siyempre, nasa nanay siya,” Patrick said of Nikka’s sweet gesture.
During that period, Jennylyn, Nikka and Patrick would occasionally share photos of their bonding moments with their children.
