K-pop girl group UNIS officially concluded its activities as a full group after its exclusive contract for nearly three years with F&F Entertainment expired.
The agency previously announced that the group’s contract will officially end on September 26, 2026, after two and a half years of activities together.
“After two and a half years of activities together with the love and support of their fans, we would like to inform you that UNIS’s exclusive management contract with our company will end on September 26, 2026,” F&F Entertainment said in a statement.
According to the agency, it had been in discussions with the members regarding the duration of their contract and their future activities.
After thorough discussions, they came to the conclusion to end UNIS’ official activities as a full group based on their originally scheduled contract period.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the members, who have poured their passion and sincerity into creating countless performances and precious moments under the name UNIS,” the agency said.
F&F Entertainment also assured that it would continue to support the members as they pursue new beginnings and follow their respective paths.
The agency likewise expressed its gratitude to the group’s fandom, EverAfter, for supporting UNIS from their time on SBS’ survival show “Universe Ticket” through their debut and activities.
UNIS is an eight-member project girl group formed through “Universe Ticket,” which concluded in January 2024. The group officially debuted on March 27, 2024, with their first mini album, “We UNIS.”
The group was formed with two Filipino members, Elisia Parmisano and Gehlee Dangca, along with other members Hyeonju, Nana, Kotoko, Yunha, Yoona, and Seowon.
Following the announcement of UNIS’ disbandment, Gehlee addressed fans through Weverse, saying she had known from the beginning that the group’s journey would eventually come to an end.
“I’ve known from the very beginning that we’d come to this point. But even so, it really hurts my heart. But I hope you won’t worry too much. It feels like I just started messaging you here [Weverse] yesterday. These two and a half years seem to have passed in the blink of an eye,” she said.
Despite the bittersweet news, Gehlee encouraged fans to cherish the memories they made with UNIS and assured them that she would continue pursuing her dreams.
“But even so, I want us to be happy. Please be happy for all the memories we’ve made together. Be happy because you got to watch us all grow throughout all this time, maybe even grew with us. And don’t worry. I won’t disappear. I’m still going to keep working hard so that I can continue showing you good sides of myself,” she said.
Meanwhile, Gehlee’s mother, Sahlee Grace, also shared her thoughts on the group’s disbandment on Facebook.
“Just saw the announcement. I know it hurts a lot. I have been preparing for this since the day they debuted because I know it would break my heart too. I have accepted that 2.5 years was the original contract. It was just a project girl group so nothing was permanent,” she wrote.
She went on to thank everyone who supported UNIS and the members throughout their journey, “Thank you for the beautiful memories, my best girls, Unis!!!”
