Rosmar Tan addressed renewed online speculation surrounding her wealth and business earnings after some netizens linked her luxury properties to alleged money laundering activities.
The controversy resurfaced after an X user shared snippets from Tan’s 2023 interview with TV host and actress Toni Gonzaga on her YouTube talk show, “Toni Talks.”
In the interview, Tan talked about some of her expensive vehicles and claimed that her beauty products business could earn as much as P13 million in a day, with her lowest daily earnings reportedly reaching P5 million.
The X user captioned the resurfaced clips: “Mukhang susunod na ‘to na maiimbestigahan hay nako kumare.”
Other users echoed the call in the comments, with one asking when beauty product businesses would be investigated, while another wrote, “Mukhang money laundering.”
Some netizens also called on the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to investigate Tan’s business.
Days later, Tan addressed the speculation through a series of Facebook posts, denying any wrongdoing and insisting that her wealth was legally acquired.
“Nakakatawa HAHAHA kinokonek nyo ako sa labada dahil sinabi kong cash lahat ng binibili namin? Bawal ba na takot lang sa utang? At ‘di sanay na may utang? Pinalaki kasi akong ganun ng magulang ko. Bumili kapag kaya, manahimik kung hindi,” Rosmar wrote.
“Dapat daw ako imbestigahan kasi daw ang dami naming napundar? HAHAHA porket ‘di nyo kaya?Tapos kaya namin? Impossible na agad? Wala kayong mapapatunayan dahil malinis kami HAHA papasikatin nyo lang ako lalo,” she added.
Tan also responded to calls for a BIR investigation, recalling her experience with the agency in 2022.
“Naaalala ko ‘yung sinabi sa’kin dati sa BIR nung year 2022 ata ‘yun. Malaki pa daw ako mag bayad sa mga sikat na artista ng tax, at sa mga SKINCARE BRAND CEO.
“Nagbayad lang naman kami ng annual na 30M tax sa unang taon ng ROSMAR BRAND. Kaya ako naging BIR AMBASSADRESS. Lahat ng pundar namin DECLARED. Kayo ba?”, she stressed.
In another post, Tan criticized those who closely monitor and comment on her activities online.
“Lahat nalang ng kibot ko content n’yo. Pag kain? Pag hilamos, mga sinusuot ko, mga sinasayaw ko, mga ginagamit ko, mga pinupuntahan ko, mga kasama kong tao. Ngayon pati pundar namin?”, she questioned critics.
“Wala ba kayong sariling buhay na kelangan n’yo pagtuuusan ng pansin? Baka naman next time pati pag-utot ko trending ibabalita din? HAHAHA. Grabehan na ‘yan,” she wrote.
As of writing, there is no indication in Tan’s posts of any formal investigation into her businesses over the money laundering allegations raised by netizens online.
