Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano reveal past ‘ligawan’ stage

Fans of DonBelle were sent into a frenzy after reel couple Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano candidly confirmed that they went through a “ligawan” phase in the past.

The beloved pairing, collectively known as DonBelle, made kilig revelations during their appearance in comedian and “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda’s latest road trip vlog, where the two opened up about their relationship dynamics and memorable moments together.

During their conversation, Vice Ganda asked Donny about his experience courting Belle and whether he enjoyed the process.

“Matagal mong niligawan si Belle? Na-enjoy mo ‘yung panliligaw mo kay Belle?” Vice asked.

Though Donny initially avoided giving a direct answer, exchanging glances with Belle before responding, he admitted putting significant effort into winning her over.

“Pero grabe ‘yung effort ko nun. I think binigay ko naman ‘yung kaya kong ibigay,” Donny shared, with Belle agreeing to his statement.

The actor also hinted that it was his first time going through such an experience.

“Syempre, first time ko ‘yun na man…” he said, briefly struggling to say the word “manligaw.”

Vice later turned to Belle and asked what gesture from Donny stood out to her the most during that period.

Belle recalled how Donny would make long drives just to spend time with her despite the distance between them.

“Ang layo niya kasi ’di ba, Laguna siya, ako Antipolo. He drives all the way from Laguna to Antipolo. Tapos pagdating pa do’n, susunduin niya ako, magda-drive pa kami somewhere,” Belle recounted.

She added that Donny’s efforts deeply moved her.

“Ta’s sabi ko, this guy spends more than five hours on the road just to see me,” she said.

Looking back on those moments, Belle described the experience fondly, “You know, it’s something so nice to look back on.”

The revelation delighted longtime supporters of the pair, who have long speculated about the real status of their relationship beyond their onscreen chemistry.

DonBelle currently stars in the romantic drama film “Tayo Sa Wakas,” which premiered on May 27, 2026. The pair also recently confirmed that the movie will be their “last” project together for now as they take time apart to focus on personal growth, with plans to return stronger for their fans in the future.
